In response to the ambitions of the City of Vancouver’s Laneway 2.0 strategy, this proposal examines a specific site within the West End with the objective of extending the urban realm into the space between the street and the lane.

By recomposing the site into a field with a number of follies (new shared public programs), the in-between spaces become territories of micro-urbanism that are modulated by their temporary occupation. The final design describes a heterotopic site that dissolves the hierarchy between street and lane.llery.
